For a greener tomorrow.
Social & Environmental Commitment
ZERO Waste Policy
Our company has long been committed to environmental protection and preservation. Over our century old operation we have developed a plethora of products to ensure that no single rock we extract goes to waste. Our Mills and Stone Crushing facilities make sure that nothing is discarded, crushing up thousands of tons of “would be waste” rocks and turning them into useful products such as marble powder, filler, and aggregates.
Social Responsibility
For over a century, we have been deeply engaged in the local community. Our journey began with the development of the railway from Dionisos to Kifissia, through what today is Odos Rodon. Today, we continue our commitment by supporting local charitable foundations, funding reforestation efforts, implementing forest protection measures, and assisting local firefighting groups.
Our Open Museum of Quarrying Art - awarded at the Biennale of Barcelona in 1999 - attracts thousands of visitors each year. This suburban oasis offers a unique green setting where visitors can relax and rejuvenate, surrounded by stones of a forgotten past.
Environmental Commitment
We have always strived to make our products more eco-friendly. Through our zero waste policy, combined with marble's longevity and durability, we have achieved Environmental Product Declarations for both our 2cm and 3cm Pentelikon Marble Slabs. Our commitment extends beyond production; our personnel and equipment, including bulldozers and water tankers, are always ready to assist in case of fire. We are often regarded as first responders in local fires. Additionally, we have strategically placed countless water tanks to support fire prevention and control efforts.
Certifications
We are proud to not only be the first Marble Company & Quarry in Greece but also one of the first in the world, that are fully ISO 14001 Certified. Specifically we have received the ELOT EN ISO 14001:2015, the ISO 9001:2015, and both our 2cm and 3cm Pentelikon Marble Slabs received EPD declarations in accordance with ISO 14025:2006 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC:2021.
